Rockaway will be retiring from the Coral Gables Police Dept. This Off the Track Thoroughbred was adopted by Ofc. Ashley Sheran who offered him to her agency in an effort to reintroduce the Mounted Patrol Unit after over 40 years since they last utilized a horse. He underwent “kissing spine” surgery in 2024, and has recovered well, but required significant medical intervention to continue working and it was decided that he should be medically retired at 15 years old.
